Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Our Child & Adolescent Psychiatry specialists are based at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Lurie Children's is a state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital that opened in 2012 with more than 1,100 pediatric specialists in more than 70 specialties. The hospital has also served as the pediatric training ground for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine for more than 60 years. Our faculty specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry are an integral part of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University. Students working with our division have a unique opportunity to learn from our wide depth and breadth of faculty, some of whom are national experts in the field.

Psychiatric Care for Child & Adolescent Patients

The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago's Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry offers mental health services for children, adolescents and their families of all socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Through the hospital, our faculty members treat a full range of diagnostic categories, including attachment disorders, behavior disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, autism spectrum disorders and organic brain dysfunction. The department has interdisciplinary care programs in gender development, mood and anxiety disorders and early childhood mental health. Children and adolescents are treated in our outpatient, inpatient and partial-hospitalization settings.
